THE USE OF PRODUCTS OF THERMAL OXIDATIVE DEGRADATION OF POLYBUTADIENE RUBBER AS A STABILIZER OF NATURAL WOOD.
Recently, special attention has been paid to the problem of protective processing of natural wood materials. Searches are underway to protect wood from the effects of adverse factors and extend the service life of products based on it. However, not a little, an important criterion is the ratio of the price of the protective composition and its quality. In the presented work, the possibility of using a product of thermal oxidative destruction of waste from the production of butadiene rubber of the SKD-ND brand with a molecular weight of Mw – 5-10 thousand in combination with a siccative as a protection of natural wood from moisture and water is considered. At the same time, it should be noted that these wastes have not found their application in the production of paints and varnishes according to such indicators as: dark color, the presence of apalescence. The use of butadiene rubber waste makes it possible to obtain not only valuable and affordable compounds based on it, but also to solve a number of environmental challenges. The objects of the study were samples of aspen wood were selected. The properties of wood were controlled by changes in such indicators as water absorption, as well as swelling in the radial and tangential directions. It was found that wood modified by waste products of thermal oxidative degradation of butadiene rubber had lower water absorption and swelling in the radial and tangential directions. The effect of the oligomer content in the impregnation composition on the water absorption and swelling of wood-oligomeric composites is investigated.
